"I wanted to let you know how pleased we are with our new Solatube that was recently installed by your company. We have a bathroom that is situated in the middle of our home that had no access to outdoor light. It was darker than a dungeon in there and in order to use it you had to turn on the lights, even in the middle of the day. As it is our main bathroom, and with a teenage daughter, (you know how much time teen girls spend in the bathroom primping!) the lights were constantly on. After the installation of the Solatube the difference was absolutely amazing! The light completely transformed a rather dark, forbidding space into a wonderful, cheery room. An added bonus is that it even throws light out into the hallway!
The first few days we kept trying to turn off the lights whenever we left the bathroom out of habit, or I would glance down the hallway from the kitchen wondering which of the kids had left the lights on in there!
Another thing that I was pleasantly surprised at was the way the light is distributed. I was wondering if it was going to have a spotlight effect, but that is not the case. The light is wonderfully diffused and throws light into every nook and cranny without creating any shadow effect.
The installer was professional, efficient, and answered all my questions to my satisfaction, even ones I asked more than once! He was very reassuring, especially since my main concern was leakage caused by installation. When the unit was installed there was a rainstorm headed our way and I had visions of water dripping from the ceiling that night. He very patiently described exactly how the tube was installed and why it was very unlikely that we would ever have any problems. My husband, who is an electrician and around construction all the time, went up on the roof once to watch and was very pleased with the way the installer was taking the time to do it right. I wish I could remember his name (our house was chaos that day!). He was wonderful!
I am very pleased with the results, with the product, and with your company. We called on a Friday and the tube was in our home on Saturday! “We now have quite a few Solatubes and Solar Star fans in our home and garage. The reason we put the first one in the kitchen was that it was so dark we had to have the light on whenever we were in the room. We were so pleased with the first one, we had one put in the bathroom with an exhaust fan. Later, we had one installed in the other bathroom and one in our family room where we have an computer and we have no windows. Now we can use the computer almost any day without a light on. I also had some 21" Solatubes installed in my garage where I restore old cars. It always amazes me when I can go into a room and think the lights are on. I don't know how many times I have reached for the light switch and realized it's bright from the Solatube. So now on sunny days, we don't have to turn the lights on which is very important now that we ve an electrical crisis in California and have been trying to keep the PG&E bill down. The Solar Star fans have also really decreased our use of air conditioning in the summer. As you can see, we are really satisfied with your product, and the installer was a pleasure to work with.”
